Route 1 Barbershop & Shave Parlour is a Veteran owned and operated shop with a classic barbershop feel.
The idea of owning a shop started with a desire to give back to community and to those who do so much for us.
Chad, the owner is a 22 year Retired Army Combat Veteran, philanthropist and an experienced Barber. He grew up over the border in Massachusetts but has been a resident of NH since 1998. After retiring from the Army he operated a clothing company here in NH but wanted more and after moving to the seacoast in 2019, he found his new adventure in Barbering.
Madison is a Master Barber with over 3 years of experience. She is a extremely talented barber and is looking forward to developing a strong clientele here in Portsmouth. Madison grew up in Dover and attended Dover High School. She graduated HS with not only a HS Diploma but also her cosmetology license. She worked in salons until she wanted to venture into barbering.
Kendra is a caregiver by heart having worked in the nursing field since she was seventeen years old. With the strains brought on the nursing field by covid she decided to bring her skills as a caregiver, and someone who understands men's health to the barber industry. She is looking forward to bringing those skills to our clientele and the Portsmouth community.
Mike is a 9 year Veteran of the United States Army who in 2019 moved back to NH after discharge with his wife and daughter, to start a new life after serving. He is a father and a loving husband who literally would give the shirt of his back to help another. He got into barbering as a new challenge and is excited to join our team.
